Who builds this

Lead Scraper is built by Kollin Croyle, working alone, in Florida. There is no team, no investors and no support queue between you and the person who wrote the code — the address on the support page reaches him directly.

Why this app exists

The businesses that most need a better website are the ones least able to tell you they need one. They are not searching for a web designer, they are not answering a form, and they do not appear in a search result — a business with no website has nothing to rank. The only way to find them is to go through local business listings one at a time, and that is an unpaid afternoon nobody has.

So the work went into the two hours before the work: finding those businesses, working out which of them can actually pay, and opening the conversation. That is the whole product. It does not do the design, write the proposal, or run the project.

How it is built and shipped

  • A native macOS app in Swift and SwiftUI — currently 1.0.23. Not a web app in a window, and not cross-platform: the floor is macOS 26+ · Apple silicon because the drafting runs on Apple Intelligence on your own machine.
  • Signed with a Developer ID certificate, notarized by Apple, and stapled — the dmg and the app inside it are notarized separately, so a first open works with no network.
  • Updates arrive through Sparkle, and every build's signature is verified before it installs. A tampered update is refused rather than run.
  • Distributed straight from this site rather than through the Mac App Store, which is why the download is a dmg and why the app can talk to Mail on your behalf at all.
  • No analytics on this website and no trackers in it. The fonts are self-hosted, so loading a page here does not tell a font provider you were reading it.

What it deliberately does not do

A short list, because the omissions are decisions rather than gaps, and finding out after paying is worse than reading it here.

  • It does not send through a shared IP pool. Sending goes through your own Mail account, which caps your volume and is the point rather than a limitation.
  • It does not send anything at all until you have entered your name and a real mailing address, because US anti-spam law requires both in commercial email. That is an enforced block, not a warning you can dismiss.
  • It does not run on Windows, Linux, or Intel Macs, and it never will — the drafting depends on hardware those machines do not have.
  • It does not scrape from a server on a schedule while your Mac is closed. Everything runs on your machine, while the app is open.
  • It carries no customer reviews or star ratings on this site, in the copy or in the markup, because there are not yet any real ones to show.

Getting hold of a human

[email protected] reaches the developer, not a queue — usually within one business day. Bug reports with the steps that trigger them are read carefully and are the reason several of the fixes in the last few releases exist. LinkedIn is the other half of that: a real person stands behind this, and you should be able to check.

One name worth clearing up: there is an older, unrelated product called Lead Scrape — one letter different, also on macOS, also for lead generation. It is not this, and this is not it. If you were looking for them, they are at leadscrape.com. The differences, laid out honestly.
